I've been wanting to create this blog for nearly a year. (Nice of me to attempt last June, huh?) Now, after great encouragement from friends, etc., I am finally putting on my big girl internet pants and getting the ball rolling. My goal isn't so much to obtain "readers" (the thought scares me a little, to be honest), but rather to have an outlet to share my thoughts clearly and completely, without interruption.
I also have a love of writing that seems to have been put on an
indefinite back burner while I pursue a career in a related, but much
different field. I want an excuse to get back into what was once a great hobby and passion.
I think about religion often. Quite a bit more often than the average person, I would say. There aren't many people who have the time, patience, or interest in listening to me brainstorm and ramble. Luckily, reading is significantly quicker than listening, and the internet has all the time in the world. (I know this because it sucks up mine so frequently.)
And that's all I have to say about that.

Mic check, 1, 2
Bat mitzvah in Jerusalem (center) January 2010 |
I'm currently in my senior year at Hofstra University, where among several other things, I am studying Religion. I was born and raised with Protestant Christianity, and I couldn't be more thankful. I'm a member of First Church of Christ in Wethersfield, Connecticut, and currently attend CenterPoint Church in Bellmore, New York. When I was 18 years old, I had the amazing opportunity to go to Israel on Birthright. I have always been fascinated with religion, but after that trip, I knew I had to take things to a more personal level. I started learning about Messianic Judaism as a way to explore my faith, and also began interpreting Biblical teachings and stories in a way that made sense to me (non-blasphemously, of course). I love talking to other people about my religious thoughts and discoveries, so I thought blogging would be a great way to bounce ideas and turn brain power into actual words. The only topic I'm an expert in is personal opinion, and that's what you'll find on this page. My views are not necessarily the views of my respective religions, or any of their respective clergy. The name of this blog was inspired by none other than AC/DC and my Dodge Stratus, Philippa. Please, please react and respond if you have something valuable to add to the conversation. השם יברך אותך xo
